Terms and Conditions

Our guidelines, assurances, and agreements to ensure you and your pet receive the best service possible. We urge you take the time to read through so you are knowledgeable of our service and your expectations.

Rocko’s Pet Boarding - Terms and Conditions
Effective from June 2024

By choosing to board your pet(s) with Rocko’s Pet Boarding, you agree to comply with the following terms and conditions:

1. Deposit and Payment

A non-refundable deposit of 20% is required to secure your booking for accommodation. Until this is received, your booking is not confirmed and may be offered to another client.
We accept PayPal, bank transfer, or cash.

The remaining balance must be paid on the day of drop-off, unless an alternative payment arrangement has been agreed in writing prior to your stay.

2. Cancellations & Changes to Bookings

  • Cancellations: Deposits are non-refundable under any circumstances.

  • Shortening a Stay: If your pet is already boarding and you decide to shorten the stay, you are still liable for the full agreed amount.

  • Extending a Stay: Extensions may be possible subject to availability. Any additional cost is due on your return.

  • Late Collection: If you fail to collect your pet on the agreed date without prior arrangement, you will be charged for the extra days at the standard daily rate.

3. Questionnaire Accuracy

Before your pet boards with us, a pre-stay questionnaire must be completed truthfully. If any information provided is later found to be false, misleading, or deliberately omitted, we reserve the right to:

  • Apply additional charges to cover extra care or risk.

  • Terminate the stay immediately in severe cases, with no refund provided.
    Continued dishonesty may result in refusal of future bookings.

4. Guinea Pig Enclosures

If you choose to use one of our enclosures, it is your responsibility to select a size appropriate for the number of guinea pigs you are boarding. The maximum capacity for each cage is clearly stated and must not be exceeded. Overcrowding will not be permitted under any circumstances.

5. Vaccinations

Where applicable, pets must be fully vaccinated, and proof from a registered vet must be submitted prior to the stay. We do not accept verbal assurances.
If valid proof cannot be provided, the booking will be cancelled, and any payments made will not be refunded.

6. Drop-Off and Collection Times

Drop-off and collection times will be arranged in advance. Please arrive promptly within your allocated time slot, as other clients may be scheduled before or after you.

7. Non-Collection

If a pet is not collected within 7 days of the agreed date and we have not been contacted, we will begin legal proceedings to recover ongoing boarding costs.
If we are still unable to reach you after 14 days, we reserve the right to rehome the pet.

8. Shared Hutches

Only bonded pets from the same household will be housed together. If signs of aggression occur, pets will be separated immediately for their safety.
Any additional accommodation required due to separation will incur extra charges, payable on collection.

9. Illness or Injury

If your pet becomes unwell or is injured during their stay:

  • We will contact you as soon as possible and take them to a vet if necessary.

  • You agree to fully reimburse any vet bills incurred.

  • Payment is due on collection.

We do not charge for our time or transport – our priority is your pet’s wellbeing. However, Rocko’s Pet Boarding cannot be held liable for illness, injury, or death occurring during your pet’s stay.

10. Pre-Existing Conditions

If your pet has a known medical condition, please inform us in advance.

  • We will take your pet to the vet if their condition worsens.

  • If your pet arrives in poor health, without prior disclosure or appropriate medication, we reserve the right to refuse boarding or cancel the stay without refund.

11. Dog Walking

Dogs will not be allowed off-lead unless written, signed permission is provided.
Should an incident occur, the owner accepts full legal and civil liability for any resulting injuries.

12. Extra Charges

Additional charges may apply in the following circumstances:

  • Damage to property or excessive cleaning requirements.

  • False or misleading answers on the pre-stay questionnaire.

Failure to settle these charges within 7 days of collection will result in legal action to recover costs.

By boarding with Rocko’s Pet Boarding, you confirm your full agreement to the above terms and conditions.
